Scratch Resistant Metal Laminates HPL
Scratch-Resistant Metal Laminates HPL is a next-generation
high-pressure laminate (HPL) surface solution manufactured in Germany using
advanced production technology. Unlike conventional metal-effect laminates,
which are generally limited to vertical applications, this product is specifically
developed to deliver improved surface stability and resistance in both vertical
and horizontal uses.
The metal-effect matte and brushed texture is combined with
a scratch-resistant surface structure engineered to reduce visible wear caused
by frequent contact, cleaning, and daily use. When bonded to substrates such as
MDF, particleboard, and similar panels, it provides a more durable and reliable
surface solution for interior furniture and architectural applications where
conventional metal laminates may show rapid wear, scratching, or surface
deformation.
By focusing on surface durability rather than only visual
effect, Scratch-Resistant Metal Laminates HPL offers extended service life and
more consistent surface performance in demanding interior environments.
Key Differences Compared to Conventional Metal Laminates
• Engineered for improved scratch resistance, reducing
surface damage from daily use
• Designed to perform more reliably on horizontal surfaces, unlike many metal
laminates limited to vertical use
• More stable surface behavior under frequent contact, cleaning, and handling
• Reduced visibility of fine scratches, helping surfaces maintain a uniform
appearance over time
• Better suitability for high-traffic and high-touch areas compared to standard
metal-effect laminates
Benefits of Scratch Resistance
• Minimizes visible wear on countertops, tables, and work
surfaces
• Extends the usable life of surfaces exposed to frequent contact
• Reduces maintenance and surface refinishing needs
• Maintains a consistent appearance despite intensive daily use
• Provides a more dependable solution for public, commercial, and shared
interior spaces
Applications
• Retail countertops, cash desks, and service counters
• Table tops and shared-use work surfaces
• Wall and column cladding
• Elevator cabin interior cladding
• Metro interior panels and train carriage interiors
• Caravan and mobile living interior surfaces
• Hotel, hospital, and high-traffic project furniture
• Interior surfaces exposed to frequent contact and impact

Processing and Application Notes
1. Balancing (Backer) Layer
To ensure panel stability, an equivalent balancing laminate
or backer layer must be applied to the reverse side.
2. Press Temperature
Accurate temperature control is essential. Press temperature
should not exceed 50°C; lower temperatures are recommended whenever possible.
3. Adhesive Selection and Cleanliness
Recommended adhesives include PVA and fast contact
adhesives. Adhesives must be free of dust and particles; if contamination is
unavoidable, filtering is required.
4. Press Plates and Protective Sheet
Surface defects on press plates may transfer onto the
laminate. The use of a protective sheet or plate improves final surface
quality.
5. Pressure
